Cut flowers have a limited life span
Karen’s professional training as a florist and her 15+ years of experience knows what flowers and designs work. Use her advice for better results and its free.
The choice of cut flower species, the source of supply, the environmental conditions and type of display are critical to how long you bouquet or bunch will last. Better quality flowers are a little more expensive.
Orchids of Tewantin only source quality fresh flowers or products from reputable suppliers to provide value for money as they want you to be a returning customer. We source local flowers wherever possible.
Don’t expect the less expensive bunches of flower from the supermarkets to last as they are many days old by the time they appear on their shelves of your local store, often transported from interstate out of water. They are cheaper because they are of lower grade that have been rejected by florist shops.
Orchids of Tewantin tips for increasing the life of your cut flowers…
- The fresher the flowers the longer they last
- Cut the stems with a sharp knife on an angle
- Remove any leaves below the water line
- Change the water every 2 days
- Display the arrangement in cooler temperatures away from direct sun light
